NYX NVR Setup & Configuration Guide
Setting up your NYX Network Video Recorder (NVR) is a structured process. Following these steps ensures your surveillance system is secure, functional, and accessible remotely.
Phase 1: Hardware & Initial Boot
Before configuring the software, ensure the physical components are correctly situated.
-
Unboxing: Verify all accessories (mouse, power adapter, HDD screws) are present.
-
Powering Up: Connect the NVR to a monitor and power source. The power indicator should turn blue.
-
Initial Wizard: Upon first boot, a setup wizard will appear. It is highly recommended to follow this for the basic time, date, and language settings.
Phase 2: Network Configuration
The network settings are the backbone of your system's remote accessibility.
| Mode | Use Case |
| DHCP | Best for quick setups; the NVR automatically pulls an IP from your router. |
| Static IP | Recommended for professional installs to prevent the IP address from changing. |
| Fault Tolerance | Use this if your NVR has dual LAN ports to provide redundancy/extra bandwidth. |
Pro Tip: Always connect the NVR's LAN port to your network switch or modem before you start the digital camera alignment.
Phase 3: Camera Integration
NYX NVRs are designed to simplify the handshake between the recorder and the cameras.
-
Physical Connection: Plug your IP cameras into the PoE ports on the back of the NVR (or via a PoE switch on the same network).
-
Auto-Discovery: By default, the NVR is set to detect cameras automatically.
-
Alignment: Use the Superlive Plus App while standing at the camera location to fine-tune the viewing angle in real-time.
Phase 4: Security & User Access
Security is paramount for any surveillance system. Do not leave the device on factory settings.

Mandatory Update: Change the admin password immediately during the first login.
-
Advanced Security: Navigate to account settings to enable Pattern Locks for faster, secure local access.
Phase 5: Remote Monitoring (Superlive Plus)
To view your feeds from anywhere, you must ensure the NAT (Network Address Translation) is active.
-
Download: Search for Superlive Plus on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
-
Cloud Check: On the NVR, go to Settings > Network > NAT.
-
Verification: Confirm the NAT Status displays "Success".
-
If it fails: Check your Ethernet cable and ensure your router is providing an internet connection to the NVR.
